Georgina: To create a feeling of true indulgence, it was all about embracing muted greys, paired with deep greens. If you’re choosing a traditional stove, like the Stovax Sheraton 5 wood burning stove, a Claremont Stone Mantel helps to emphasise the sense of grandeur – and gives you opportunity to explore the themes you may have been afraid to try previously.
Before deciding on your colour scheme or furniture, think first of what you want to achieve, how you want the room to feel and what styles you wish to embrace; this will then lead you on to what furniture and colour schemes to consider introducing. With this interior, I knew from an early stage I wanted to create a Neo-Art Deco feel to the room to emphasise the opulence and elegance of the Stovax log burner and Claremont Stone Mantel.
Using a colour palette of warm greys for the walls and wood work keeps the interior neutral but still stylish – matching tones together such as Sanderson’s Elder Bark and Owlswick creates subtler interest to the scheme without overpowering the room. Coloured furniture also adds a richness to the scheme that using cushions alone struggles to achieve. The Alexa Sofa and Chaise Longue from Birlea encapsulates the elegant Art Deco theme with their rich green velvet sofa adding an inviting texture to give the room a relaxed classic feel.
